The “Hidden Gem” of the southern Okanagan known as Apex Mountain Ski Resort has been in operation for 55+ years since opening to the public.
Apex has been transformed from the original single rope tow with a small day lodge into a world class ski destination with a great village that still retains that small intimate ski resort feel. The Gun Barrel Saloon is a well known bar that has moved from its original site to the village centre but still keeps its old warmth and charm.
The mountain now has 4 lifts on Mt. Riordan that access all their fabulous terrain and legendary “champagne powder” snow with an annual accumulation of over 600 cm. From these lifts you can reach all kinds of different terrain from groomed to bumps, glades and steep chutes in the back bowls.
Its terrain park has big doubles, gaps, table tops, rails, the Bus, and a half pipe. Apex is the host to World Cup training camps for some of the best freestyle skiers in the world. There are over 1,112 acres of skiable terrain with over 50 kms of groomed cross country trails for both classic and skating styles. Apex has now installed snow making equipment allowing it to be one of the earliest ski resorts to open in the Okanagan.
Their village has on-hill accommodations, restaurants, bars, ski school and rentals. They have a great kids program, night skiing and a skating rink.
